Defining Media by Distribution Is Outdated

The Tennessee Titans recently revoked the credential of Jared Stillman, a longtime radio personality who's also built an audience on YouTube and other platforms.

The Tennessee Titans recently revoked the credential of Jared Stillman, a longtime radio personality who's also built an audience on YouTube and other platforms.

The conversation has become: does he still count as traditional media? I think that's the wrong question in 2026.

Defining a broadcaster by distribution method is outdated. Radio, YouTube, podcast, social, they're all just ways to reach an audience.

Access isn't a right unless you're a rights holder. Everyone else is receiving something valuable in return.

Reporters are becoming creators. Creators are becoming broadcasters. Those lines are disappearing fast.

I think teams are going to start asking who deserves access, why, and what value they're getting back.
