Growing pains: founders must learn to let go and trust the people they hire; they exceeded…

Change is never easy, and as someone who’s hired to help businesses change, I recently got a dose of my own medicine… and I needed it!

CUENTO Marketing (opens the CUENTO site in a new tab) has grown from a little bootstrapped startup to a thriving 5-year-old company. With that comes new talent and inevitable growing pains. One of our biggest challenges has been learning to let go and trust the incredible people we’ve brought on board.

Last week, with many of our partners having big moments at the same time we needed to divide and conquer to ensure everyone had what they needed from us.

Here are my key takeaways:

• We’ve hired amazing people. I’ve had to remind myself of that fact often.

• Trusting people to shine pays off. They exceeded expectations.

• Having multiple points of contact with our partners is crucial. More touchpoints mean a stronger connection and better outcomes.

• I love where our business is headed, and the talent we’re adding makes me excited. More creators creating—nothing better!

• We need to keep pushing ourselves and our partners because the results are incredible!

The last thing I would add here, is that we have grown this business responsibly and continue to commit to our partners that we will add the resources needed for their success.

Last week was a tremendous celebration of that commitment.

Change is tough, but sticking to the status quo will only hold back a growing business. 💪🚀
