“I’m going to have very clear boundaries with my job, because you have none!” – 𝗺𝘆 𝟭𝟱-𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿-𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗱𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿

That one stopped me in my tracks… and led to a really interesting conversation about work ethic, ambition, and expectations.

We talked about:

- Wanting more vs. not wanting for anything

- Earning vs. getting

- Reaching vs. settling

- What “balance” actually means

I told her the truth:

𝗜’𝗺 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲. I’ve always worked hard, and I love what I do. And I realized young that if I wanted a different kind of life, I was going to have to create it and not wait for it.

But here’s the part many people struggle with:

You cannot say you want to reach the highest levels of success…

and also insist on the boundaries, limits, and comfort of someone who doesn’t.

𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁.

Going “all in” isn’t required. It’s not for everyone.

But if you choose a steadier, more balanced path—that’s great. Just be comfortable with the results that come with that choice.

Balance your expectations with your effort, or at some point you’ll be disappointed—on one side of the equation or the other.
