I’m not ok with just being ok…
These powerful words shared with me by a young employee with incredible potential encapsulate the struggle faced by many who are existing in a survivor's culture. There are too many people being “led” by those merely striving to survive another year. The impact of those leaders reaches far beyond themselves; they impede company growth, hinder peers, and most detrimentally, stifle their employees' potential.
We need to embrace the realization that being content with the status quo is not enough.
However...
- It’s on you to recognize that you are not growing, improving and learning.
- It’s on you to drive change, whether internally within your organization or by seeking a new path.
- It’s on you to choose the right leader for you.
- It’s on you to not be ok with just being ok.
