Observation

Young people shouldn't limit their career options by geography; moving for opportunity is…

I had a meeting today with a woman that I mentored several years ago. She’s so happy now and it made me so excited! Not only for her, but it was another sign that this project is going to be so exciting.

I had a meeting today with a woman that I mentored several years ago. She’s so happy now and it made me so excited! Not only for her, but it was another sign that this project is going to be so exciting.

She asked me to speak to a young college kid who was 19 and wanted to work in sports. (I get this one a lot based on my gig. Ha!)

We talked about internships and opportunities in the industry. He said he wanted to stay on the west coast... Why??? You’re 19! You don’t know what the rest of the country or world has to offer. You never want to limit your opportunities based upon limitations you put on yourself.

Leaving is always hard to do and as your life gets more rooted, it becomes harder and harder to make that big move. As someone who has left home a few times and returned more than once, I would much rather know that something wasn’t right, than to wonder for the rest of my life if it would’ve or could’ve been better.

I love Boston and I always will, but leaving was the best thing I ever did.
