WAYNE PARTELLO

Observation

Dressing to fit in at his first NFL meeting taught Wayne to just be himself.

I was on a call today and it was said that I look like Iris Apfel with my new Blenders Eyewear blue light blockers. I have never learned too much about Iris before today, so I decided to read about my new “twin.”

I was on a call today and it was said that I look like Iris Apfel with my new Blenders Eyewear blue light blockers. I have never learned too much about Iris before today, so I decided to read about my new “twin.”

Her story has so many lessons, but the one that stood out to me the most was about being yourself. It reminded me of the first time I went to a National Football League (NFL) meeting. I had traveled in my standard comfy attire and checked into the hotel to find the whole group getting organized for the welcome cocktail party. The outfits were very conservative and now I was even more nervous.

I have never been known for the most conservative attire as I love bright and fun colors. So I decided to try and fit in. I went for “run” to justify my comfy clothes and found the nearest store to buy a black polo shirt and went back to change before attending the event. That night I met many of my new colleagues from across the country and later shared why I was late to the event. We all laughed and the next day I broke out one of MY favorite shirts and some bright shoes and tried to outdue my outfits each year that I attended those events. Ha!

So I am really humbled that my new glasses even put me in the same stratosphere as Iris.

Google Iris Apfel and be yourself!
