I am always looking for inspiration and now that I’m traveling more, there are opportunities around every corner.

Last night in Las Vegas we went to the Golden Knights’ game to see what all the hype is about. I really enjoyed the show and had a few key takeaways.

1. They did not miss opportunities to tell their story.

From the email I got confirming my seats, to the countdown to opening of the arena doors and through the game entertainment the excitement and confidence in their experience was everywhere. I love puns, I also really enjoy Lil Jon, so content combining both of those things is awesome!!

2. Don’t overlook opportunities to extend your experience.

They did a nice job of activating their plaza in front before gates opened and it allowed for us to buy stadium priced concessions before we even walked through security.

3. If you build it well, they will come.

I remember growing up in Boston and laughing about hockey in warm climates. “There is no way they have real fans!” “They don’t play hockey in the dessert!” I was wrong! Their fans are so into this brand and the game! Their chants and interaction were as good as I’ve ever seen.

Kudos to the team in Las Vegas and thanks for the inspiration!
