I recently had the pleasure to speak to a group of middle school and high school boys about my life.

I shared the story of scared kid in high school who didn’t know the answer to “where are you going to college?” And the story of the dad who prodded me and my father to get me to college or I would be a “loser”. Then continued on to my journey from DJ to CMO and now business owner.

Here are my five key takeaways from the talk:

- It’s ok to NOT know the answer

- Choose your circle carefully

- Set goals and hold yourself accountable

- Execute with PURPOSE

- Evaluate and assess

And then I finished with this quote to remind the kids and their parents of the most important lesson we can all learn:

Be a good person.
